I have a copy of this from 1920 but I can't see any illustration of Jesus on a cross in it. That may be a different book.
It has plenty of rubbish about the end coming in 1925 though!
i am new in this forum.
i need a information, if possible.. "where i can find in the net a complete download (text and pictures) of the old jw book "millions now living will never die".
in advance thank you very much.. a happy new year (2005) to everyone!.

hey folks,.
just curious, any concensus on what john actually meant here?
i doubt a guy in the first century could honestly envision a time when mankind could genuinely "ruin the earth" if the idea struck them.
I think the whole book of Revelation is a denunciation of the Roman persecutions under Emperor Domitian.
The book promises that the persecutions will soon end with the setting up of God's Kingdom. As it says in verse 15 "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever". Verse 18 is a promise of retribution in kind for Rome.
One of the simplest explanations of Revelation is here: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/01594b.htm
they now have their own web-site here: http://www.jah-jireh.org/index.html.

the bit about the 15 grandmothers had me close to tears, i can tell you!.
Wouldn't they be set up as every other nursing/residential home in that a charity is set up so that any money made from fund raising events and donations would be tax free?
Whether the resident pays for care or it is subsidised by the government would depend on the individual circumstances. I don't think the Watchtower Society makes any money from them as it is a private business venture.
the report below serves as an excellent example of the shallow understanding that people in general have regarding the so-called "star of bethlehem".
notice that the "star" is held in awe ... some sort of an object that satan himself caused to glow in the dark in order to cause the premature death of jesus.
satan's worst nightmare is jesus, was back then, and still is.
I'd also like to know what Jesus' family did with all that gold. They would have been rich beyond their wildest dreams and never had to have worked again.
Did Joseph squander it all on loose women and booze? Did they make some poor investment decisions? Where did it go?
question and answer:
please answer truthfully, and from the heart.. are the merchants worthy enough to carry the name of christ in their advertisements?.
doesn't is require and act of god, or his christ, to initiate a mass (gathering) in his name?.
ohio,
Browngrinch
That gave me the first laugh of the day!!!
btw, Merry Christmas Brownboy!

in my past witness life ive done the jw tours etc.is it true they miss out anything that debunks the 607 theory?i want to look around the place to see for myself some time soon.. 607 is a no-no ,i know that.i just need to see for myself though.. has anyone here done a official tour ,with the intent of confirming for themselves the wt prophecies are false?
Dansk,
Most of the tablets disproving the 607 BCE date are, I believe, not on public view but are stored below in a vault.
I recently had some correspondence with Dr John M Steele who is currently working at the museum transcribing and analysing many previously unpublished tablets. It's thanks to the work of scholars like him that we have so much evidence for the chronology of the Neo-Babylonian period.
Here's a link to a description of his work: http://www.royalsoc.ac.uk/page.asp?id=1559
His Chronology Scholarship is from the Caeno Foundation whose site explains among other things VAT 4956: http://www.caeno.org/
(I contributed a little to the VAT 4956 analysis myself. )
the thread about jael got me to thinking about all the biblical names i heard from witness children.. jael, barak, elisha, elijah, noah, matthew,.
anyone else remember new babies coming into the world and being given "biblical" names?
i thought it was hilarious when there was baby noah.
It's not just a Witness thing. Non witness friends of mine have just named their son 'Malachi'. And 'Noah' was on the shortlist! Biblical names are very fashionable.
So, why not Nebuchadnezzar, Zerrubabel, or Potiphar?
hi there everyone, my name is treefrog and i am new to this site.
i am a roman catholic so i feel like i'm entering the lion's den here, but not to worry.
i hope to share my beliefs with you all regarding our saviour, jesus christ.. i hope to shine a light into your organisation (if jesus christ couldn't, how can i expect to!
Who's on first?
What's on second, I Don't Know's on third -
maybe if there is a god, that maybe he doesn't want us to know who he is?
maybe he only wants to know us through prayer.
maybe the bible is a hoax?
